A very important message from Mr. Whiskers

Hi Everyone:
Its Mr. Whiskers blogging for Lillie. Sorry there are no pictures tonight. I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that Lillie injured her right hind knee cap and it is dislocated. The GOOD news is she is going to be o-k and she did not tear her ACL. THAT was really good news actually. The Vet told momma that she was pretty sure it was torn. Lillie is on strict rest for the next 10 days. Tonight she is pretty quiet because they had to sedate her to examine her knee, and take x-rays. Plus she is in considerable pain. She has been walking around on three legs. Occasionally she will bare weight on her injured leg. The vet said that if it isn't better in 10 days she is going to need surgery. Mom needs help with ideas on how to keep Lillie quiet. Right now, because of the pain she is pretty low key. She won't go down the stairs and is moving pretty slow. Mom is worried that once she is feeling better (and the pain meds kick in she will want to run around and play. Any suggestions from you friends would be greatly appreciated. Mom will update more tomorrow when Lillie is feeling better. Thanks for checking in on us!

Oh poor Lillie, I hope she rests and doesn't need surgery. When I was limping all the time and was supposed to not play, Mom and Dad hid all my favorite toys I liked to get crazy with. Other than that, all they could do is settle me down when I started to get hyper and stuff. Good luck to you all with Miss Lillie. I sure hope she feels better real soon!

Your pal,
Kirby

Poor little Lillie. I hope the pain doesn't get her down too much. I think she's goijg to be eating lots of long lasting chews and Kongs to try and keep her still. Thinking of her and hoping she doesn't need surgery.

Crikey Mr Whiskers, we hope Lillie is ok. Poor thing. It's not easy keeping an airedale still but maybe you could try crating Lillie for a while, that is if you have a crate. Also remove all stimulation and keep her in a restricted area. Also sit with her for long periods of time. Not sure if these suggestions will help but it may be worth giving them a go.
Hope she is ok and doesn't need surgery. How did she do it?

Oh no, Lillie! How did this happen? Marrow bones keep us settled for hours but we don't get the marrow center. Mom pushes that out or we get the runs. We hope you feel better.

Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Oh poor Lillie.

Hope she is a good girl and settle down and has lots of rest. Some nice chews keep us still for quite a long time and then we like to snooze.

Get better soon, we are crossing our paws you wont need surgery.

Molly and Taffy.

Lillie, this is terrible news, we hope you get better very very soon! I guess some good news is in there, but any pain is sad :( we don't know what to do to keep dogs calm except maybe some benadryl but we don't know how much of that stuff dogs can have :(
